The identity of a man found deceased at a rural Webster City residence Monday morning has been released by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Gregory Allen Pekkala, 59, of Webster City, was named by the Sheriff’s Office as the man deputies found dead Tuesday morning.
Deputies were called to 724 Kendall Young Road shortly after 9 a.m. Monday for a welfare check, which occurs when someone calls the Sheriff’s Office and requests that deputies check on a person to make sure there’s nothing wrong with them.
Online records of the Hamilton County Assessor’s Office list Pekkala as the owner of the property.
His body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.
Officials with the Sheriff’s Office said there is no reason to believe that there is an ongoing threat to the citizens of the county.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office with the death investigation.
